SUMMARY:Ribbon Cutting - Costal Health & Wellness & TCISD School-Based Clinic
DESCRIPTION:All community members are invited to help celebrate!\n\n\n\nRibbon cutting at 11:00am.\n\n\n\n \nSchool-based health clinic returns to Texas City ISD on Aug. 8\n\n\n\nTexas City Independent School District and Coastal Health and Wellness have partnered to establish a school-based clinic opening Aug. 8\, 2023. This innovative collaboration aims to provide comprehensive healthcare services to students\, their families and staff members\, ensuring convenient and accessible healthcare within the school community.\n\n\n\nThe newly formed school-based clinic will be a vital resource\, offering a wide range of medical services to address the diverse healthcare needs of the Texas City ISD community. This initiative is particularly significant as it aims to bridge the gap for those who may be uninsured\, underinsured or privately insured\, by implementing a sliding-scale payment system. This means that individuals and families from all economic backgrounds will have access to quality healthcare services without financial barriers.\n\n\n\n"We are extremely proud to join forces with Texas City ISD to establish this much-needed school-based clinic\," said Coastal Health and Wellness Chief Operating Officer Ami Cotharn. "By offering comprehensive healthcare services on-site\, we can improve health outcomes\, increase convenience and reduce the length of absenteeism among students."\n\n\n\nThe school-based clinic will provide a broad range of medical services\, including immunizations\, routine exams\, sports physicals\, acute illness treatment\, injury\, mental health services and more. By having healthcare services conveniently located within the school grounds\, students and staff will have easier access to care\, reducing the need for unnecessary absences and promoting overall well-being. Telehealth options will also be available so students can be seen by a doctor from the school nurse's office. In addition\, home pharmacy deliveries will be available making this a convenient option for families.\n\n\n\nThe clinic will open on Aug. 8 at the Calvin Vincent Early Childhood Center campus\, located at 1805 13th Avenue N. in Texas City. Go online to register as a patient even if you do not need services at this time: www.coastalhw.org\n\n\n\n"We are excited about this partnership and the opportunities it presents for our students\, families\, and staff members\," said Texas City ISD Superintendent Melissa Duarte\, Ed.D. "This school-based clinic will help ensure that our community has access to timely\, comprehensive healthcare services. We are grateful to Coastal Health and Wellness for their commitment to the well-being of our students and their families."\n\nThe collaboration between Texas City ISD and Coastal Health and Wellness exemplifies a shared dedication to improving the health and well-being of the community. By combining resources and expertise\, the partners are working towards a common goal of fostering a healthier future for students and their families.
